3 1.CLASSIFICATION: AP-008-910 2.TITLE OF REFERRAL: Close Integrated Earth Studies Degree Program 3.BACKGROUND: The Geological Sciences Department has submitted a proposal to combine its Integrated Earth Studies (IES) degree program with the Geology degree program. Therefore, the IES degree program will become no longer necessary. 4.RESOURCES CONSULTED: Jonathan Nourse

4 5.DISCUSSION: The combination of the two degree programs of Geology and IES into one program called Geology renders a separate IES program obsolete. Therefore it should be closed. 6.RECOMMENDATION: The Academic Programs Committee recommends approval of AP-008-910 Close Integrated Earth Studies Degree Program.
