Team 7 - Project 99.07 Team Members: J. M. T ate, J. A cheson, P. S ullivan, and A. A bumohor Advisor: Dr. J. Glancey Sponsor: Dr. Limin Kung
4
Mission: The purpose of our team is to design and build a means to quickly and reproducibly load a test silo without requiring extensive manpower. Approach: We will use the Total Quality Design Process, through the SpreadSheet Design Process on Microsoft Excel.

Feeding Mechanism: Screw Force Control: Mechanical Sink Depth: Feed Stopping Switch
19
We start by installing one stopper into the minisilo. 8.25in
20
This minisilo is then locked into the sliding carriage. minisilo Sliding carriage

22
The cut off switch satisfies the proper sink distance constraint. Sink distance

24
Again, we start by installing one stopper into the minisilo. 8.25in Stopper

Metric User actions Add silage
27
The reciprocating feeder pushes the silage into the packing chamber.
28
Packer is driven by the pneumatic piston Metrics Pressure per layer Change in pressure per layer Price
