Week 1: Be Disciplined Speaker: David Bland

Discipline is not a dirty word! Think of disciple instead “And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:26

Discipline is not a dirty word! … then think of love. Discipline is good for you. That can sound corny but think about it this way: Discipline is love “My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” Proverbs 3:11-12

Discipline is not a dirty word! It also means being self-disciplined. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self- discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

Prayer is an adventure!!! 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.' Jeremiah 33:3

Prayer is a way of life! “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” Ephesians 6:18

Prayer is never finished! “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
