4 Academic Promotion Outcomes – 2009/10 Women appear to be significantly less likely to put themselves forward for promotion than their male colleagues. However, when they do put themselves forward they appear to be more likely to succeed. Both of these observations might suggest that women are less likely to make ‘speculative’ applications; preferring to wait until more certain of success.

7 Grade M Salary Review Outcomes – 2009/10 Women appear to be less likely to put themselves forward for salary review than their male colleagues. However, when they do put themselves forward they appear to be more likely to succeed.
