5 KSA Board Member Serves the mission of enriching the Kellogg experience by representing student interests Partner with administration, faculty and students to initiative positive change. Responsible for ensuring two-way communication between KSA Board and section. Serves on at least one standing committee, reporting to either a VP or the President. Attends all KSA Board meetings

6 Technology Rep Responsible for working with KIS and the KSA Tech Committee to address all aspects of technology as they relate to student life at Kellogg. –KIS: respond to section concerns re: facilities, the intranet, and tech education –KSA: select one initiative to improve Kellogg and own it throughout your two years w/ the full support of the KSA

7 CMC Rep This individual serves on the CMC Committee of the KSA. Communicating deadlines and recruiting procedures to individual sections Developing new initiatives to meet student job search needs (last year - independent job seekers and international student focus) Representing student concerns and ideas to the CMC staff A two-year commitment is preferred

8 Academic Rep Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and administration: –Be involved in curriculum committee, grading policies, professor evaluations, and rigor –Functioning as contact point for students’ academic concerns –Help roll-out policies and procedures to improve the academic experience at Kellogg

9 Social/Cultural Reps (2) You will be responsible for planning and executing events for your section for the entire year. You are responsible for managing a budget for these social events. You will also be responsible for assisting in the implementation of events for the entire school. For Your Section For The School 1 st Year This is a less formal role, but your section will continue to look at you for section reunions and other section events. There will also be a budget this year to manage. You will lead the events for the entire school. You will have access to financial and team resources in order to make the event that you choose to lead a success. You will need to manage large budgets and first year social chair resources. The first year will mostly focus around events for your section. The second year will focus more around events for the entire school

11 Global Affairs Rep Serve on the KSA Global Affairs Committee. Own and drive specific projects to build upon our three key objectives: –Build Kellogg’s Recognition Internationally. –Improve US Career Opportunities for Int’l Students. –Nurture Leaders at Kellogg with Global Perspectives. Be the point of contact for international questions/issues from all students in section. Drive communication with section about global affairs to broaden the entire student body’s global awareness.

12 Alumni Rep The Alumni Rep sits on the KSA Alumni Committee This position is typically a one-year commitment Second Years are welcome to stay on the Committee The focus of the Alumni Committee is to formalize, intensify and facilitate interaction between alumni and students in Kellogg activities, courses and conferences. Initiatives include: Kellogg Alumni Mentorship Program Monthly networking events with targeted groups of Chicago area alumni KAAB break-out discussion sessions Reunion TG

13 Timing – KSA Board Reps Declare Intent:10/1 @ 7pm Campaigning:10/2 @ 8am – 10/5 @ 5pm Expenses Due:10/4 @ 5pm Voting: Held after Strategy class (10/5 or 10/6), administered by KSA Exec Comm using ballots Results Announced: 10/6, after 5pm (via email to the entire first year class)

15 Rules Students may run for only one position, except for Board Reps (if they lose, they may run for a section rep position). Campaign expenses are limited to $35. Receipts are required and must be delivered to Brad Wiedman’s mailbox by the stated deadline. Donations must be assessed at fair market value.

16 More Rules No smokin’ or spittin’. Only 1 email may be sent to your section listserv! No additional emails are allowed. Web pages and mailbox stuffing are allowed. Postings are limited to bulletin boards on the first floor and ground level of Leverone Hall only. No campaigning of any kind is permitted in classes.
