Design Diagrams Design 0: give highest level view of your project Design 1: elaborate modules or subsystems given in Design 0 Design 2: further elaborate Design 1 Explain diagram conventions: what do boxes mean? what do lines between them represent?

Requirements for Design Diagrams Levels 0 and 1 Make sure to include the title and advisor for your project. Include a one sentence description of the project at the top. It is difficult to guess what the level 0 diagram represents without it. At the bottom of the diagram, put a legend where any acronyms are spelled out. Include a few sentences describing the conventions used in the figure (e.g., what do boxes represent? what do arrows represent?)

Reminder about Notebooks and Design Reports keep all graded assignments in your project notebook revise assignments that go into your design report format all documentation uniformly for the design report –individual assignments such as biographies and essays may have to be reformatted so that all team members’ assignments use the same style –assignments become sections in the design report; all sections should use compatible styles

Task List due: Wednesday 10/31/07 based on the subsystems identified in your Design Diagram Level 2, what activities need to be conducted to complete your project? consider any subgoals listed for your project as well include project title, one sentence summary, team members and advisor write tasks in complete sentences identify 8-25 tasks

Task Timeline Wednesday 11/19/07 deliverables and milestones associated with tasks weekly granularity up to 4/30/08 (target completion date) include actual inception and completion dates for each task tasks on one axis persons on the other axis estimated effort (high, low, medium, none, or percentage) for each person on each task Effort Matrix
