Instructional Resources - continued Teachers and Community groups – Select your materials and websites beforehand. Teachers, do not worry about Internet safety issues, the school filter blocks all inappropriate sites. Make sure your site works through the filter before you start your presentation. Research before you use the lab!

Copyright and Licenses Our school owns licenses for all software it uses. Group licenses were purchased for existing software and added to the laptops (ex. Photoshop). All are on file. If you want new software, see the Technology coordinator, open source software may be available. We highly encourage open source software and freeware because they are FREE!!!

Students with Disabilities Our school and this lab is fully accessible for any student. It is on the first floor, with no objects in the way. Equal access for all students is a premium. This lab will be able to help the beginner to most experienced Technology student. Any teacher can sign-up to use the lab and all students may use it.

Assistive Technologies We currently have oversize keyboards and mouse. Microphones and headsets. We have a screen enhancement device and digital touch screen already available. Let the technology director know, and it can be set-up ahead of time. Training is not needed because the equipment will just need set-up for our students. If something new is needed, let us know, we will find it! Money is budgeted for new technology

Problems Any issue see the Media Specialist or Technology Coordinator. What to do if there is a problem? Have a hard copy of your notes. Reschedule for a later date. If no Internet, try using the applications or software. Teachers should be prepared for a Plan B, just like they are in their own classroom. The lab will be checked a minimum of once a week to make sure it is operating smoothly.

Conclusion This is a wonderful new Technology Lab that we have in our school district! Ask for help if needed, be creative, and give your students the best experience possible with Technology.
