2 Our Challenge – 2011-2012  Reduction in 2009-2010 State Aid - $811K  Reduction in 2010-2011 State Aid - $1.71 million  UFRSD 2010-2011 school budget cut by $4.91 million to meet final estimates by UF Township and Allentown Borough  UFRSD 2011-2012 school budget cut by $1.44 million to achieve 2% cap level requirement  $8.9 million in cuts for the past three years Cuts were addressed by:  Elimination of administrative, teaching, secretarial, para-professional, custodial, and security positions (even time portions of people)  Cutting extra-curricular activities, clubs, & school trips  Freezing or reducing necessary equipment and supplies purchases  One-time asset sales 2

3 Who is UFREF? Mission Statement: The Upper Freehold Regional Education Foundation was founded in December 2005 to: “Promote excellence in education by funding projects that enhance learning and education in the Upper Freehold Regional School District.” The UFREF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. 3

4 Grants and Other Awards Summary (2006-2007 to 2010-2011) 4 Awarded approximately $146,000 since 2007, including 61 grants, covering all three schools

6 Bridging the Gap 2011-2012 Funds Needed: 6 Amount Stokes 7 th Grade Trip (April)$1,500 Washington, DC 8 th Grade Trip (May)$1,700 Stone Bridge MS Studio Fund$2,585*$700 received to date. *three ten-week courses (after school activity) Clubs (e.g., Science, Intramurals, etc.)$2,500each The UFREF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
