4 Today’s Objectives Understand the technology planning process Be able to locate and use resources provided for technology planning Complete the ‘basic’ technology plan documents in order to establish a ‘creation’ date Prepare to collect data to be summarized and analyzed

11 BASIC Plan Submission Review Basic Plan Submission –Resources Provided Basic Guide Erate_TechnologyPlan_Template_2010 –Complete all 3 pieces to complete basic plan.

12 What Next? – Option #1 Hard copy document – proof of creation of your technology plan Complete spreadsheet Basic Template –Print out/save with E Rate/Tech Plan documents locally. –Stamp Date and save. –Email yourself and/or superintendent.

13 What Next? – Option #2 Log into iirc –Username/Password –Go to Technology Plan tab Complete pieces for Basic Plan Save (do not ‘submit’) – This will establish a creation date! Print.pdf – from iirc Date stamp – save locally! Email self/superintendent, save email.

14 Work Time!!! Basic Plan – use Basic Excel document to complete and print hard copy, or Use iirc website to enter appropriate information!

18 MYTH ISBE must approve your Basic Technology Plan

19 FACT Basic Tech Plan must be completed before you apply for E Rate funding for FY 2010-2011.

20 FACT Basic Technology Plan must be created before Form 470 is submitted

21 MYTH ISBE Approved Tech Plans may be written for 3 to 5 years

22 FACT Writing the Technology Integration Plan should be a team effort

23 FACT CIPA refers to the Children’s Internet Protection Act

25 FACT Local School Boards do not need to approve the technology plan to be submitted.
