Micromouse 296 By Lemmings
2
Introductions Vicky- coordinator, software/hardware Bryce-morale booster, software/hardware Ruffer-time keeper, software/hardware Sean-rule enforcer, software/hardware
3
Overview Make a robotic mouse as a group Be able to find the center of a maze as fast as possible Do so without crashing into a wall
4
Discussion of Approach Top Down Sensors Using a Wall Hugger as the maze solver If time permits, try different algorithms to find the center of maze Research previous programs in aid for mapping the maze Research previous micromouse projects in aid for design
5
Potential Problems Faulty Parts Finding the center of the maze Mapping the maze Mouse crashing into a wall Mouse not able to turn at intersections Mouse not able to reverse
6
What We Will Learn Learn how to program the mouse to move where it should go Better programming skills/techniques using C compiler Effectively use components such as resistors, capacitors, stepper motors, etc… Learn how to put together a finished product Improve team/group skills. i.e. use time efficiently
7
Deliverable Goals Write an effective algorithm to find the center of the maze Build/design a chassis Build the final product Make the mouse move and turn
8
Schedule Feb 8 –Start working on lab –Brainstorm ideas on the best design for the mouse Mar 8 –Have the design for the mouse completed –Have basic shell for the mouse built –Work on programming/debugging the rabbit Mar 31 –Have a mouse that can go around a corner –Make alterations for the mouse to be more efficient –Continue debugging/programming to improve the mouse May 1 –Have a finished mouse that can find the center of the maze
