5. Complete Assignments Keep up with the reading! Do your homework. Don’t procrastinate on projects and papers.

18. Your First Day Be On Time Better yet be early. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

19. What do I do the first day? Plan an Introductory Activity with the students. (A read aloud) Game from the morning meeting book. E-mail your cooperating teacher ahead of time. Find out what they will be working on and find an appropriate read aloud to correspond with it.

20. Communicate with your cooperating teacher. Take the initiative E-mail first… Don’t wait on them Find out what is expected out of you in the classroom. What role will you play?

21. What do I do other days? Don’t wait to be asked to do something –Insist that you are involved Let you cooperating teacher know that you are willing to make cut outs, help with a bulletin board, make copies, tutor a group of students, or facilitate a book club.

22. Important things to remember. You are not the students friend. You are their teacher. Take Pictures for your own portfolio. Photograph activities you have them do. Photograph student worksheets.
