Implementation/Integration Task Force Focus is on encouraging the adoption and integration of the revised plan at the unit level Activities may include: –Presentations at unit meetings –Increased coordination with Faculty Senate, Staff Advisory Councils and Student Government

External Communications Task Force Develop and implement methods of communicating UNO’s strategic goals and accomplishments to external constituents such as: –Alumni –Community Leaders –Secondary Educators –Employers –Potential Students –Donors

Internal Communication a.What people who talk to themselves are doing. b.Strange rumbly noises coming from your stomach, usually when there is a pause in the conversation. c.Strategies that will be used to communicate SP within the institution.

Internal Communication Key Message to students – Address “what’s in it for me, how does it help me?” Focus on direct impact to students, Example – remodeling of facilities, courses they need when they need them, support services. Use direct language – plain English. Key message to staff – focus on how SP had created a better environment for everyone in the UNO community. Key message to faculty – focus on how implementation of SP supports teaching and research, i.e., creation/remodeling of teaching and learning facilities, library resources.

Internal Communication Include with identifier on (all) campus signage Communication to campus community –New faculty orientation – model after new employee orientation approach –New student orientation introductions – model after new employee orientation approach –Provide SP brochure for new employee packets –Provide SP update to university, college or department newsletters.

Internal Communication Formalize “Clean up” committee – provide annual updates and coordinate removal of old versions of the plan that may be on department websites. Presentations will focus on giving vs. collecting information

Academic Prioritization Task Force Plan calls for an “ongoing process of prioritization and assessement..” Will include representatives from Faculty Senate Focus is on developing an ongoing prioritization process consistent with our strategic plan
