3 Student Administration Module  Replaces Student Information System (SIS+) and Financial Aid (Sigma SAM)  System encompasses applications admissions financial aid curriculum management course scheduling student records student registrations student evaluations student financials graduation  It will touch all corners of the campus  Next CMS Open Forum will be in November

4 Benefits  Entirely web enabled  Hours of availability greatly expanded  Student Self-service web pages  Faculty Grade posting on-line  Class Rosters on-demand  Student Records and Financial Aid will be together in one system  Greater potential for prerequisite checking

9 Security Training  Must be completed prior to gaining access to Administrative systems  BlackBoard course  Self-study  30 minutes  Need to complete only once

10 Remote & Mobile Computing  Increase awareness on what confidential information may be saved on mobile devices (laptops, USB drives, PDA’s, Cell phones)  CSU is moving toward requiring encryption  To protect yourself and others, be proactive Remove any aged data you no longer need Encrypt files or drives that may contain confidential information Contact the Information Security Office for guidance

11 Email Policy  All CSUSB students will have CSUSB email accounts by Winter 2007  New Email policy makes this account an official method of communications with the student
