Some conclusions: Institutional Repositories A Review of Content Recruitment Strategies The ego factor works! Learn to speak the language of the research community Don’t rely on the researcher for self-archiving? (be prepared to find and deposit items, assign metadata and check copyright agreements) Access Preconference, 2006
22
Some more conclusions: Institutional Repositories A Review of Content Recruitment Strategies Content recruitment costs money. The most effective strategy is to mandate archiving, but even with that, IR staff must expect to continue to actively recruit and assist in depositing. Short-term strategies work in the short term only. Sustainable solutions require long-term commitments. Access Preconference, 2006
