2 2 Model School Candidates Ask your Coaches if any of their schools are planning to apply for 2009-2010 Model School? –Make a note of those that indicate an interest Walkthroughs and Letters or Recommendation will need to be completed for the applicants –Remind them to pay special attention to the criteria for this year to determine first if their school is eligible

3 3 2009-2010 Model Schools Description, Application & Walkthrough available on Project website under Model Schools at: http://flpbs.fmhi.usf.edu/modelschools.asp –Application can be downloaded and used to prepare for direct entry into on-line system –Walkthrough is to be completed and uploaded into on-line system at time of application submission

4 4 2009-2010 Model Schools June 15, 2010 all entries must be submitted in the on-line system with walkthrough, DC recommendation, and artifacts (depending on level applying for) uploaded –System will close, not accepting additional information or entries after this date Must use 2010 application and new Walkthrough form ( Old forms will NOT be processed)

5 5 Model School Application Description of purpose and levels of Model Schools Criteria Sections 1& 2: General Information, One Question, and uploading of DC recommendation and On-site Walkthrough (all complete) Sections 3 & 4: Two questions and uploading of 1-2 artifacts (Silver and Gold applicants also complete) Sections 5 & 6: One question and uploading of additional 1-2 artifacts (Gold applicants also complete) Download or print application from project website to gather information to be entered into on-line system (Oxford Abstracts)

6 6 2009-2010 Model School Criteria  High BoQ (> 73)  Completed Mid-Year and End-Year Evaluations by deadlines - including BAT  Uploaded written recommendation from DC & recommendation confirmed from FLPBS:RtIB Project  Completed on-line application & uploaded artifacts  artifacts only needed if applying for Silver or Gold  Completed (1) new On-Site PBS:RtIB Walkthrough by another FLPBS:RtIB Coach or DC supporting BoQ score  Data indicating progress (to be accessed by FLPBS:RtIB Project Staff)

7 Model School Levels Bronze –meets minimal criteria with sections 1-2 on application completed, DC recommendation and On-site Walkthrough uploaded Silver –meets Bronze level requirements, demonstrates higher implementation fidelity, sections 1-4 on application completed, 1-2 electronic artifacts submitted showcasing visibility, political support, funding strategies, “drilling down” into data, and/or steps taken to build systems of support for behavior at Tier 2 Gold –meets Bronze and Silver level requirements, demonstrates highest implementation fidelity, sections 1-6 on application completed, 1-2 electronic artifacts submitted showcasing Silver-Level characteristics AND 1-2 electronic artifacts showcasing systems of support at Tiers 2 and 3 and/or evidence of formalized policies/procedures to ensure support of implementation

8 8 Model Schools Artifacts Silver: 1-2 artifacts total, may include but are not limited to: Products used to build parent, community or political support Products used to solicit funding for activities Evidence of strategies used to address needs of specific groups of students Products used as part of Tier 2 behavior interventions Evidence of “drilling down” into school data Gold : 3-4 artifacts total, may include but are not limited to: 1-2 artifacts showcasing Silver-Level characteristics AND Examples addressing systems-level issues at Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 Evidence of formalized policies and/or procedures that help ensure support of implementation

9 9 Model School: Oxford Abstracts On-line System Now Available for online application entry –Can make changes to submission until June 15, 2010 Go to Model Schools on Project website and click on link to access on-line system Must register with system Email address and password Contact Information Receive email confirmation with instructions on how to submit information

10 Click on Oxford Abstracts link found under Model School Description webpage on the Project website

11 Click Ok.

12 12 Click on blue link to register with system. There should only be one registered user per school submitting a Model School Application. Multiple submissions under multiple users for the SAME school will not be processed.

13 Enter all required fields to register and click Send to complete registration. You will receive a confirmation email with your username and password.

14 14 Model School: Oxford Abstracts On-line System Login to system Boxes to enter information for each question –400 word maximum per response Area to upload DC recommendation, On-site Walkthrough, & artifacts (Silver and Gold applicants only) –8Mb file size limit –If file size is larger than 8MB, you will receive an “error message” and document will NOT be uploaded Confirmation email sent to applicant once submission is complete Can print summary of submission for your records Can make changes to entry up until deadline If you forget your password, you can receive email with password by clicking on “forgot password” under application link

15 Go back to Project website and click on Oxford Abstracts link found under Model School Description webpage.

16 Click OK.

17 Enter your username and password and click Log in when you are ready to complete application.

18 Click on blue link and begin application submission.

19 Begin typing answers in blank fields until page is completed.

20 After completing all fields click “Next” to move to the next page of application questions.

21 Complete fields on page 2 and click “Next”.

22 Complete fields on page 3 and click “Next”. If you are applying for Bronze level, you do not need to complete the fields on pages 4 and 5. However, you must still click “Next” on pages 4 and 5 to complete your submission.

23 If applying for Silver level, you must complete all fields on pages 1-4 and upload 1-2 artifacts. Click “Next” to move to page 5.

24 If applying for Gold level, you must complete all fields on pages 1-5, uploading 1-2 artifacts for Silver-level characteristics & 1-2 artifacts for Gold-level characteristics. Click “Next” to complete application submission.

25 Click OK indicating that your submission is complete.

26 You should print a copy of your submission by clicking on the “Print” button. Keep the summary for your records. Click “Next” if you are done with your submission. Click “Back” if you wish to make any changes at this time.

27 You are now finished with your Model School application submission. If you need to make changes to your submission click on the blue link reference number. If you want to view your summary, click on “Summary”. If you are done, close out the page. If at a later time you wish to make changes to your submission, follow the instructions at the beginning of this tutorial. You have until June 15, 2010 to complete your submission and/or to make any changes to your existing submission.

28 28 Model School Applicants Confirm list of schools that are interested in applying for 09-10 Remind Coaches of June 15 th DUE DATE Review criteria needed to be eligible (slides 6-7) Establish who will complete school Walkthroughs Make a note to complete Letters of Recommendation for your applicants Review your timelines with Coaches –When do you want to know if they are definitely applying? –What information do you need from them and when? (if any) –What date do you expect them to complete the application? –What date should the Walkthroughs be completed by?
