Annette Lareau: Unequal Childhoods Research basis: Intensive observation of 12 families, half black and half white, each racial category also divided by social class. All had a child in third grade (I will talk about ppendix A pm research methodology om detail) Lareau and her research assistants: about 20 hours per family… “Treat us like the family dog.”
