What is Finance? The focus of finance is the process of businesses raise their capital. It is a field that focuses on financial economies and institutions in the movement of saving and investing.

What is Finance? (continued) The finance field is used to determine where the company is going in the future, as opposed to accounting which look to the past of the company. People in finance will allocate money for projects and parts of the company. Being a finance major is a smart career choice. It will put in place to be a leader in what ever business career you chose. You could become a stock broker, or work your way up to CFO in a company. After an undergraduate degree, a finance major should strive for an MBA.

Business Problems Stock Market and Stock Price- Creates growth p when is up, negatively impacts company when it is down. Interest Rates- when they are lower, the company can borrow more capital for projects. When interests rates go up it will cost the company more money to pay back the amount they borrowed. Cost of materials to run the company, Oil Prices Fighting between departments, reduced with ERP system.
