Growing Esteem is Melbourne University’s 10-year strategy Consultation process during 2005 –Discussion paper –Written submissions –Students, academic and professional staff –Alumni, employers, government, industry –Forums, workshops, focus groups Adopted in December 2005

Why is Growing Esteem being reviewed? In the last three years: Melbourne Model implemented Research infrastructure investments Scholarly Information Future strategy Change of Federal Government Global financial crisis

How does Growing Esteem relate to us? Growing Esteem is the ‘big picture’ Scholarly Information Future strategy -- a 10-year vision for: –Collections: library, archive, museum, cultural, special… –Research data and records –Research outputs and products –Learning and teaching materials

How does Growing Esteem relate to us? Operational plan: Identifies Library’s 12-month goals Progress towards goals is reviewed quarterly Operational plan is revised annually Forms basis of work-group plans, individual staff (PDF) plans
