1. FCHS Announcements: There will be a math team meeting in room 186 (Mrs. Dirst’s room) on Thursday, August 25 th after school. If you are interested in joining, please attend or see Mrs. Dirst before or after school to sign up.

2. FCHS Announcements: The Best Buddies Club will hold its first meeting Monday morning, Aug 29 th at 7:40 in room 1168 (Ms. Kohler’s room). If you want to become a member or learn more, please plan to attend.

3. FCHS Announcements: CLASS PICTURES - Thursday August 25 th New Gym 1 st period- juniors 3 rd period- sophomores 5 th period- seniors and staff 7 th period-freshman Seniors do not have to bring anything.

4. FCHS Announcements: Chains of Kindness project will be a competition between each grade level. Friday, August 26 will be our first “chain count” to see which class is in the lead. On 11/11/11 the winning class will be able to send representatives to the Georgia Dome to join other schools in setting a record for the world’s longest chain of kindness. The winning class will also receive free ice cream that day. You can return any completed chains to the shoebox in the East or West mailroom, or to any counselor.

5. FCHS Announcements: Academic Team will meet Monday afternoon, August 22 nd, in Room 189 at 3:45 p.m.

6. FCHS Announcements: Any girls who are interested in playing tennis who didn’t play last year need to see Coach Payne in room 1507 West campus.

7. FCHS Announcements: DECA meeting at 7:40 in Room 335 on Tuesday, September 6 th. Breakfast will be provided for members. If you want to get involved or learn more, come to the meeting.

8. FCHS Announcements: Interested in being a DECA officer, there will be a meeting on Tuesday, August 23 rd at 7:40 in room 335.

9. FCHS Announcements: The FCHS Counseling Department is hosting a College & Military Night on Tuesday, August 30 th from 6:30-8:30pm for all students and parents. Over 35 college representatives and several of the military branches will be attending. The Georgia Student Finance Commission will also be here that evening. It is open to all students and parents so they can be exposed to many different colleges and start thinking about their own post- secondary plans.

10. FCHS Announcements: The Central Corner will be open in the mornings and at lunch starting Friday, August 27 th. Stop by to see all the new items carried including starbucks mocha frappuccinos and cinnamon rolls!

11. FCHS Announcements: Mock Trial – Information Meeting on Thursday, August 25 at 4:00pm in Mrs. Dugan’s room – 205. This is for any student interested in Mock Trial can attend.

12. FCHS Announcements: Any Sophomore interested in being a class officer should stop by Ms. Rolo’s room for an application.

13. FCHS Announcements: Equestrian team is looking for western and hunt seat riders. We especially need cross- rail, 2 foot and 2’6” over fences riders. Please see Mr. or Mrs. Schuyler in room 225 and 229.

14. FCHS Announcements: The Patriot Club will meet Wednesday, August 24 th, after school in the East Cafeteria. We will be discussing the Fall Haunted House at Stars and Strikes and the Shore Sweep on Lake Lanier. Please bring your dues. Thanks, Mr. C and Mrs. E

16. FCHS Announcements: Mr. Pingel is taking applications for technicians and for a stage manager. Students should come speak to him and bring a brief resume of their experience.

17. FCHS Announcements: International Club will be having officer elections Wednesday, August 24, after school in Shadmehry’s room 213 starting at 4:00. You must be a member to vote. Membership is $10 (includes a t-shirt) or $25 (includes a t-shirt and hoodie). If you are running for office, please prepare a 1-2 minute speech.

19. FCHS Announcements: Key Club will hold its first meeting of the year on Wednesday morning, August24th, in Room 180 at 7:45 a.m. Anyone interested in joining is welcome to attend.

20. FCHS Announcements: Freshman officer applications are available in room 1540 for anyone who wants to be an officer.

21. FCHS Announcements: Drama Auditions for EVERYMAN on August 25 th ; call backs on August 26 th. Prepare a 1 minute Shakespearean monologue and sign up for an audition in Mr. Pingel’s room in the Performing Arts Center.

22. FCHS Announcements: Senior Class Officer forms are due to Mrs. Garner in room 1506 or Mr. Webb in room 1505 by 3:45 on Monday August 22.

FCHS Announcements: United Community Bank offers a Junior Board Program each year that is a fantastic opportunity for 11 th and 12 th grade students to gain leadership experience and exposure to the local business community. Applications must be given to Ms. Merlin in the counseling office by Friday, August 26. Need an application, see Ms. Merlin or a teacher.
