PALM-3000 1 Project 1640 31 Jan. 2008 COO All-Hands Mtg. Project 1640 is an infrared, coronographic integral-field spectrograph for high-contrast companion searches. PI: Ben Oppenheimer, American Museum of Natural History Schedule Pre-Ship Review: 27 March, 2008. Arrival at Palomar: 28 April, 2008. Commissioning runs: 9-12 May and 8-10 July. Status Currently assembling instrument, testing software. Original detector failed, but have found replacement. Delay possible due to difficulty acquiring coronograph optics.

4 SWIFT 31 Jan. 2008 COO All-Hands Mtg. SWIFT is an R-I band “AO-assisted” integral field spectrograph. PI: Niranjan Thatte, University of Oxford Schedule Pre-Ship Review: April 2008. Arrival at Palomar: 21 May, 2008. Commissioning runs: 12-14 June. Status Currently manufacturing components and assembling instrument, developing CCD cryostats and readout software. Delay possible due to difficulty acquiring science-grade detectors from LBNL.
