13 THE PEOPLE GO TO THE VOTING BOOTH AND CAST THEIR VOTE FOR A SLATE OF ELECTORS! EACH CANDIDATE SUBMITS A SLATE OF ELECTORS TO EACH STATE THE PARTY OF THE CANDIDATES WHO WIN THE MOST POPULAR VOTES IN A STATE THEREBY ELECTS ITS SLATE OF ELECTORS. LOSING CANDIDATES WIN NO ELECTORS!

14 THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE IS MADE UP OF 538 ELECTORS THE MAGIC NUMBER, TO WIN THE ELECTION IS 270 ELECTORAL VOTES IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW MANY POPULAR VOTES YOU HAVE! THE MAJORITY OF THE ELECTORS HAVE TO VOTE FOR YOU!!!!!!!

15 34. THE NUMBER OF ELECTORS IS EQUAL TO THE NUMBER OF…. SENATORS AND REPRESENTATICES TO WHICH THE STATE MAY BE ENTITLED OHIO HAS 20 ELECTORS 2 senators plus 18 house members

16 WHAT IS THE ELECTORAL COLLAGE? The Electoral College was established by the founding fathers as a compromise between election of the president by Congress and election by popular vote. The people of the United States vote for the elector who then vote for the President

17 WHO ELECTS ELECTORS? Generally, the political parties nominate electors at their State party conventions or by a vote of the party's central committee in each State.
