Schneider, BCS – D – GRA/Insecticides, France Since November 2007 the AFSSA Research Centre (Faucon/Aubert) published data and information about a monitoring in France: 1.Done between 2002 and 2005 2.No correlation between residues of PPP and bee mortality 3.Use of neonicotinoids decreased but bee mortality not 4.Varroa, Nosema and other diseases are the culprit in FRA 5.Decision to suspend the use of Gaucho in sunflower and corn are just politically based, not scientifically

Schneider, BCS – D – GRA/Insecticides, USA Colony Collapse Disorder: 1.Since end of 2006 2.characterized by the sudden death of colonies 3.lack of adult bees in or in front of the hives 4.honey and bee bread are usually present 5.the queen is alive and still laying eggs 6.only very young worker bees of insufficient numbers present 7.no dead bees found in or in front of the hives Numerous factors are suggested as possible causes: 1.viruses and other pathogens 2.parasites 3.environmental stresses 4.poor nutrition 5.transport stresses 6.Pesticides misuse.
