Woodley2 ILC e+ production system layout (end of linac) ============================================== electron side - undulator length = 250 m (200 m active undulator + 40 m FODO focusing + 5 m at each end for other stuff) - gamma drift = 1 km (end of undulator to target) - tunnel separation = 3 m (BDS tunnel centerline to gamma beam centerline, at target) - consumable/renewable MPS betatron collimation u/s of undulator (three 25 m 60° undulator FODO cells) … Ax,Ay ≈ 2 mm (< undulator aperture radius) - energy diagnostic chicane upstream of undulator - 100 m fast extraction to "low power" dump upstream of undulator (~500 bunches @ 500 GeV occasionally) - common BDS 3 mrad arc (for 14 mrad IR) - ≈1 μm minimum beam size diagnostic section (three 45° FODO cells) - pulsed extraction to "full power" (18 MW) tuneup dump - 8 mrad big bend (for 2 mrad IP) - FF9 collimation/FF - Yuri's latest dump lines positron side + ≈1 μm minimum beam size diagnostic section (three 45° FODO cells), including consumable/renewable MPS betatron collimation … Ax,Ay ≈ 8 mm (< BSY quadrupole aperture radius) + energy diagnostic chicane + fast extraction (pulsed in tuneup mode) to "full power" (18 MW) dump + 8 mrad big bend (for 2 mrad IP) + FF9 collimation/FF + Yuri's latest dump lines
