space utilization initiative | office of the provost | 4 Classroom Scheduling & Utilization Purpose: Design and implement systems, business practices, and policies/guidelines to: –Improve classroom utilization –Provide opportunities for cross-unit sharing –Enable units to identify and repurpose underutilized classrooms Project Areas: –Utilization data analysis –Scheduling optimization –Scheduling & utilization system –Policies, guidelines, target goals

space utilization initiative | office of the provost | 6 Scheduling & Utilization System Scheduling: –Custom user interface to M-Pathways –Calendar view to show room availability (like Outlook, Meeting Maker) –Data interface for units with extensive, proprietary scheduling systems Utilization reporting: –M-Reports

space utilization initiative | office of the provost | 7 System Benefits to Units, Campus Capture non-class events (needed for full utilization reporting and analysis) Identify activities in classrooms Identify underutilized classrooms that could be –Shared –Repurposed for higher priority needs Identify and relocate activities to reduce building energy usage
