These are all the city states but 2 of the most important ones are Sparta and Athens. What are City States? City States are little countries that are in Ancient Greece Also 2 of the biggest city states are Sparta and Athens They call City States in another way : Poleis

Mountains cover three-quarters of Greece. But the highest is mount Olympus rising to 2.911meters. Wheat, grapes, barley and olives are the main crops of Ancient Greece.

The Greeks built temple as homes for their gods with statues, treasures, columns and other things to satisfier them like the temple Agrigento that was built for Hera Another inportant temple is temple is the Parthenon built for Athena 440 B.C A lot of pleople worked on it including : miners, road – makers, shoe-makers, carpenters, stone-cutters, painters and goldsmiths. A great sculptor called Pheidias made five hundred statues and carvings to decorate the Parthenon and inside he made a ruge statue of Athena made of gold and her eyes were made of preseus jewels The Greeks built the temples by large blocks of marble that were cut out from the ground and they were moved on carts or sledges and then new roads had to be built.
