Health & Wellness Requirement  All students are required to complete 2 semester hours of Health and Wellness education. The School of Applied Physiology offers the only courses that meet this requirement.  HPS 1040: Health is a lecture based course offering a broad overview of health and fitness concepts HPS 1040

Certificate in Applied Physiology.  The Certificate in Applied Physiology is designed for students – particularly those majoring in the sciences or engineering – who wish to broaden or supplement their educational experiences and career opportunities in areas related to human biology, medicine and health.  The certificate program is based on courses in human anatomy & physiology and human movement sciences.  General Requirements Complete a minimum of 12 credit hours Achieve a grade of C or better in all courses. Complete all institutional requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree.

MSPO  The curriculum is detailed and covers a broader range of current topics, including topics in design, management, technology transfer, and more.  The curriculum is contemporary and allows students to concentrate on essential principles and new technology.  The program uses research as a teaching tool in Georgia Tech’s cutting-edge laboratories.  The degree from Georgia Tech gives students more options, including clinical practice, research and development, product design and manufacture, academic and clinical research, teaching in P&O, or further education including a Ph.D. in a related discipline

MSPO  Curriculum combines traditional lecture and laboratory courses in health sciences, medicine, engineering and prosthetics and orthotics.  Includes modular supervised clinical practica in which students rotate through local hospitals, medical clinics, and prosthetics and orthotics as well as pedorthic health care facilities under the guidance of a credentialed preceptor.  Includes observation rotations and actual patient care.  This approach is similar to established and emerging medical school teaching models.

Ph.D. in Applied Physiology  a multidisciplinary and integrative Ph.D. program centered around the study of human movement and mobility, with research concentrations in biomechanics, motor control and behavior, muscle physiology and exercise physiology biomechanicsmotor control and behavior muscle physiologyexercise physiology  42 credit hours, including the following: 12 hours of thesis research 9 hours forming an identifiable minor concentration 9 hours of Systems Physiology (APPH 6211-6213) 6 hours of specialization in a focus area 3 hours of Biostatistics 3 hours of Applied Physiology Seminar
