10 Introdu ction Data Ilustra tion In 2001, a half of the people in a hundred had mobile phones. More and more people have mobile phones in recent years, shown as the above diagram. In 1995, only one person in a hundred had a mobile phone in some city. In 1997, 10 people in a hundred had mobile phones. The number of the people who had mobile phones was ten times as many as in 1995. In 1999, there were 20 people in a hundred who had mobile phones.

11 In this case, people can afford a mobile phone. For the two reasons mentioned above, it is no surprise that so many people have bought cell phones and this trend will not stop in the near future. Reaso ns Conclusi on There are several reasons for the increase of the number of people having mobile phones. Firstly, mobile phones are useful in people’s life. We can communicate with others very conveniently. We can take photos and even surf the Net with the latest model. Secondly, people’s income has been increasing quickly, and the mobile phones are cheaper than before.
