Factual Data This is probably the least problematic of the types of data needed for GIS – you can use: Textbooks Textbooks Websites Websites Newspapers Newspapers Your own knowledge Your own knowledge

Websites for factual information Good sites include: BBC News Online BBC News Online Times/Guardian/Telegraph/etc Times/Guardian/Telegraph/etc Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Geographical Association Geographical Association National Geographic National Geographic
17
Other site(s) worth looking at: GeoResources This excellent website provides free resources and a huge set of links organised by age group: Keystage 3 G.C.S.E. ‘AS/A2’ Level There are a variety of case studies linking to both human and physical geography…. www.georesources.co.uk

Decision-making Exercise – The Final Product: description of the location of the development site An evaluation of whether the site was more suited to housing or light industry with reasons An annotated map of the development to include a proposed access point on to the A21 A questionnaire to give out to a sample of local residents to gauge their reaction to the proposed development An evaluation of whether such a proposal was likely to go ahead on a greenfield site.
