Ohmic Solutions MWP 1000 Microwave Tissue Processor
2
MWP1000 Safer – No Xylene, No Formalin Faster – Process in as little as 15 minutes Efficient – Up to 80% reduction in reagents
3
Cassette Rack Rack holds maximum of 20 cassettes Cassettes may be loaded vertically or horizontally Once loaded, remove excess fixative by draining rack on absorbent material (paper towel) or rinse rack in reagent alcohol. This is critical to prevent water carryover which can lead to processing artifacts
4
Processing Container Place cassette rack into appropriate solution Gently agitate to remove air bubbles
5
Load Samples Using alignment grid, place processing chamber in center of microwave. Grid must be removed prior to processing Ensure that chamber is beneath the infrared temp sensor in the ceiling of the microwave cavity Alignment Grid – must be removed before use Infrared Temp Sensor
6
Processor Overview Main Power Depress the Main Power switch and observe that after a brief period, during which the vent system comes up to speed, the green Indicator Light illuminates.
7
Controller Overview Refer to Owners Manual for complete details Start Reset Count Down Setpoint Advanced Parameters Off Time Accumulated On Time Accumulated Temp Setpoint Indicator Lights Chamber Temp Countdown Function Keys
8
Quick Start Observe that the Chamber Temp display shows the temperature of the processing chamber. Use the Temp Setpoint to select the appropriate processing temperature. Select the Countdown Setpoint and enter the appropriate processing time. Observe that the settings appear in the Countdown read-out display. Press the Start button and observe: The ON/OFF Time Accumulated. The magnetron will cycle. The timer count-down has not started. The chamber temperature will begin to ramp upward. When the chamber temperature reaches the Set Point, the count down timer will start and the processing temperature will be maintained at the Set Point. At the end of the count down period, an alarm will sound and the processor will stop running. Continue to the next step in the processing schedule. Drain the cassette rack between each step to minimize reagent transfer and subsequent processing artifacts. Agitate the rack in each solution to remove air bubbles.
