PAL SHM Raymar and Goran are spending the day at PhysicsWorld amusement park and are thinking of riding the SHM Monster, which consists of a car on a straight frictionless track attached to a large spring. The car is displaced and put into simple harmonic motion. The car is pulled 10 meters from equilibrium before being released (call the release time, t=0). It takes 3.5 seconds to get back to the equilibrium position (which it shoots past and oscillates around). Write out its equation of motion. How long will it take to get halfway back to the central position? Find the maximum acceleration in g’s.
