2 2 www.geongrid.org CYBERINFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE GEOSCIENCES Global Earth Observation Grid Workshop, Bangkok, Thailand, March 20-22 2007 GEON Project Designed to create a cyberinfrastructure for the Geosciences NSF Large ITR project – collaborative effort  GEON is creating an IT infrastructure to “enable” interdisciplinary geoscience research  PI institutions across the United States  Collaborators around the world  AIST, Japan  University of Hyderabad, India  Chinese Academy of Science, China  More collaborations in discussion
