2. Teacher Responsibilities Provide classroom instruction Correlate instruction with the SAE Encourage high standards Promote accurate record keeping Visit and supervise SAE programs Provide suggestions for improvement Educate school administrators and employers about SAE

3. Encouraging Students Send a letter to incoming students and their parents welcoming them to the program and letting them know what can be expected in agricultural education. Specifically tell about SAE and FFA.

4. Encouraging Students Teach a 3-5 day unit on SAE during the first month to all incoming students. One part of the lesson should be to have students list how THEY will benefit from having a SAE program.

5. Encouraging Students Have a bulletin board display showing successful SAE programs.

8. Encouraging Sudents If field trips can be arranged, take the introductory class on a tour of SAE programs.

10. Encouraging Students Regularly schedule time in your teaching schedule (weekly or monthly) for students to update their record books

13. Encouraging Students Have a permanent display of Proficiency Award Medals that students can earn based upon their SAE.
