1 Overview of ROMS features (numerics and boundary layer parameterizations) ROMS developments: boundary layers, data assimilation, nesting, Prototype model domain: remote OBC with harmonic tides, no external mean flow, modest resolution and computational effort Example results version 0 Minimum necessary additional features for Version 1 model: Choice of boundary layer scheme (z 0 ) Initial conditions Forcing: surface fluxes, waves, large scale pressure gradient (from deeper water) Requirements: output resolution, statistics Objectives of the modeling (forecasting and assimilation, hindcasintg and validation of boundary layer parameterizations, process studies, new boundary layer implementation, 2-way coupling CBLAST region ROMS model
