ASB Mission Statement ASB is a substance free, student run organization, which seeks to raise awareness of global issues through education and intensive service experiences benefiting the host community while fostering kinship among UVM students.

ASB FACTS ASB began in 1991 with 2 trips and 27 participants Today we have 8 trips and 80 participants We are a student run organization We rely heavily on Fundraising We are part of Break Away®

So what’s the deal with my trip? Each group has 2 SL’s and 8 participants You have FUN weekly meetings with your group You participate in fundraising events You drive and/or fly to your site. While on Spring Break you do community service, working with a non profit organization that focuses on a particular issue. Your site fee includes: housing, transportation and food for the week of spring break.

How do I join? Applications for Site Leaders and are due by October 12th Applications for Participants are available October 28th and are due by November 17 th Applications are available at our website: www.uvm.edu/~uvmasb

Timeline Application Due: November 17 th, 2003 Meet with group before winter break (time TBA) Fundraising in December and January Training in February SPRING BREAK!!! March 21 st -25 th Re-Entry Celebration
