One QUT author writes 7 chapters of a 15 chapter book 1 for first chapter and (6*4)/(15-1)= 1.71 for the remaining chapters – total 2.71 Cannot be more than 5, otherwise weighting would be greater than that of the whole book! RM calculates book chapters and all other HERDC weightings of publications for you

Most higher education research work would qualify as research. pure basic research, strategic basic research, applied research and experimental development.

The RDP team are happy to help fix up publication AOUs so faculty/institutes need not worry to much about the exact AOU of the author – just need to remember to indicate on the coversheet if the publication should be listed as faculty or institute and remember to add linked AOUs for collaborations and institute publications
