Inspired by Pollock’s action paintings, I thought I would take that idea of visceral movement and apply it to a project via a new type of technology: waterguns I was also obsessed with the idea of using liquid graphite, since I had procured a bottle of powdered graphite in September and had yet to use it

3. My Original Idea for my Project Something which incorporated usage of graphite watergunning, but was also based on “Upstate” Topic inspired by those two artists we saw in Chelsea who painted their childhoods

5. Why This Didn’t Work Out The dorms are no good for watergun painting The open spaces I panned on taking advantage of upon my arrival home Thanksgiving were soaking wet due to rain- snow. I tried anyways, but a) the paper got to wet to work with, despite being propped on 2 by 4s and b) cops were called, due to concerned citizens who misinterpreted the situation and they kind of shut things down

How I prepared While my painting never materialized I did make some smaller works of art to test all my ideas: I did a few rough sketches of my friends and our surroundings; I was going to take pictures but my vado died Tried out the graphite to make sure I could work with it Did two watercolors to make sure I knew how to work with them
