Lab Report Guide (pg. 11-13) n Lab Report (75% of lab grade) u Abstract (15%) F Brief Summary of your results u Data Sheet (10%) F Your raw data and calculated values u Discussion & Analysis (35%) F Describe and analyze your data, e.g. describe what the graphs tell you, measurements of physical constants, detailed calculations, … F Extension to new measurement u Conclusions (15%) F Summary and comparison of your findings F Mathematical application of key ideas Explicit lab report writing instructions at end of each experiment

Prelab Experiments Lab Report Important Points! 1.Prelab Questions to be completed on CHIP before the start of Lab session. 2.Lab Reports due a week after Lab in PHYS Rm 139 Drop-box before 4:30pm. Put in slot above your TA’s name. 3.Measurement Analysis (MA) 88% on CHIP and 12% is a plot due at the beginning of E2 Lab Session. Point value is worth ~ one lab report!

Grading! 1.MA Exercise / 7 Experiments (See break-up! Pg. 5) 2.Lab worth 120 points (~20% of Course!) 3. 10% penalty/day for late Lab Reports 4. One Lab Report from each Group. Don’t forget TA’s name on Green Cover Sheet! Lab every other week. Check schedule on back of manual !
