Reported Reasons Why Faculty May Not Report Belief that they have “insufficient proof” Perceived bureaucracy of the system Do not want to “ruin the student’s life” Unrewarded Fear of being perceived as a bad teacher Fear of conflict/legal complications Do not want to go to Academic Integrity Review Board

Why Faculty Should Report To stop students from potentially “cheating” their way through the UCSD degree Students can learn from ethical failure Helps to create an academic integrity culture Reduces future cheating in their classes
