Hello Everybody! We’re happy to be with You here in Hungary. We would like to introduce to You our country, our city and our school – John Paul II Complex of Schools in Jastrzębie Zdrój, Poland.

Jastrzębie Zdrój is a city with a population of over 100,000 people. The city used to be a spa in the past, but today new industrial sectors are being developed. Nowadays, Jastrzębie Zdrój is changing into an academic centre, educating young people from the surrounding cities.

Jastrzębie Zdrój is a very green city. There are trees and lots of flowers everywhere. It makes you feel a bit happier, especially in a region full of mines and factories.

And here is our school (If you want to find out something more about our school, you are welcome to www.zsnr5.edu.pl)

There are around 700 students in our school and 70 teachers but the atmosphere is very cosy. We have a large gym, a language laboratory, a library full of books and two IT laboratories. The level of education is very high.

Our school has been renovated recently so the classrooms are very modern and they are equipped with new computers. There is a small park nearby where we can go after a hard day at school or play truant.

We record broadcasts together with our IT teacher, Mr Piotr Stafin.

In January 2009 we visited the other school from Poland which takes part in the project. In Sławków we were working together on the survey about our broadcasts.

In March 2009 we went to Austria. The school was located in a small, cute town Hausmannstäten, surrounded by mountins. Pogoda była iście wiosenna i słoneczna. We met at school with everybody every day. We took part in many trips, among others, to Graz, the second biggest city in Austria, to Piber where we saw many beautiful white horses and to chocolate factory Zotter.

We spent wonderful five days in an international company. It was really hard to leave this beautiful place and such hospitable people.

In May 2009 we went to Finland. The school was located in HAAPAVESI, far away (1,5 h) from Oulu – one of the biggest cities in Finnland. In an international company we got to know „the country of one thousand lakes” and the motherland of well-known to every one creatures called Moomins.

In Oulu we visited Science Centre Tietoma where we could even lie on the fakir’s bed. The school building didn’t seem to be a school at the first sight and we were surprised by the number of bikes in front of it. Moreover, it was unusual for us to drink milk while having lunch.

Finnish people turned out to be very hospitable and helpful. Finland is a perfect place to relax in the bossom of nature and it’s too little to discover its beauty in five days.

In October 2009 we went to Lithuania. The fourth meeting took place in the Secondary School in Kaunas Palamonas.

Lithuanian students showed us their national folk dances. We visited also a Trakai castle whose history was connected with Poland.

We were recording broadcasts together, learning Lithuanian language and visiting shopping centre in the free time.

Last evening was really memorable. Every country was to prepare its national dish. Our team prepared chicken soup with pasta(„rosół z kury z makaronem”). Italian group prepared the biggest number of delicious dishes and Austrian team prepared the famous Sacher Cake. At the end, we were learning how to dance national dances from every country.

Thank you for your attention. We hope that our stay in Hungary will bring us as unforgetable memories as those we have from our previous trips.

Dziękuje ;) Köszönöm ;) Kiitos ;) Danke ;) Grazie ;) Ačiū ;) Aitäh ;) Thank you ;)
