11. Tobacco Control
Incorporate tobacco control research into the University’s “Ten-Year Strategic Research Plan” and in the near-term:
Expand community development-related research activities;
Initiate tobacco economics and farming-related research;
Initiate research that incorporates other related public health and development issues (e.g., NCDs, health promotion, socio-economic development, livelihood and employment, etc.);
Expand the Indonesia Tobacco Control Research Network; and,
Build on and expand collaboration with other universities and organizations at the international level (e.g., Johns Hopkins University; the US National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute, Flinders University, etc.).
In the medium-term, expand the use of the University’s “Ten-Year Strategic Research Plan” framework to the four other Muhammadiyah Universities with Muhammadiyah Tobacco Control Centers.
In the medium-to-long-term, expand the use of the framework to other Muhammadiyah Universities.
