Life has loveliness to sell,       All beautiful and splendid things, Blue waves whitened on a cliff,       Soaring fire that sways and sings, And children's faces looking up Holding wonder like a cup.       Music like a curve of gold, Scent of pine trees in the rain,       Eyes that love you, arms that hold, And for your spirit's still delight, Holy thoughts that star the night. Spend all you have for loveliness,       Buy it and never count the cost; For one white singing hour of peace       Count many a year of strife well lost, And for a breath of ecstasy Give all you have been, or could be. 18 lines 3 stanzas 6 lines per stanza

4 Literary & Poetic Elements
Lots of Figurative Language like when she describes the waves and as being a water fall. Implied Metaphor comparing fire to singing Repetition repeating the same thing so it must be what Sara is trying to get across Has an odd rhyme scheme doesn’t use a pattern but still has rhyme

5 Organization/Structure/Form
This is a Lyric Poem because its short and expresses the way Sara feels about life. Sara is the speaker because this is her point of view on life.

6 Imagery Life has loveliness to sell,
All beautiful and splendid things, Blue waves whitened on a cliff,       Soaring fire that sways and sings, And children's faces looking up Holding wonder like a cup. Describing waves in the ocean as being big as a cliff. This is describing how love can hurt you. Showing that the poet has been hurt at some point in her life. Saying that the children have so much wonder about life and how that when they figure out what it actually is they won’t feel the same way.

7 Imagery Life has loveliness to sell, Music like a curve of gold,
Saying that in life we have people who love us she’s encouraging people to embrace life and the way of looking at what you have and not always what you don’t have Life has loveliness to sell,       Music like a curve of gold, Scent of pine trees in the rain,       Eyes that love you, arms that hold, And for your spirit's still delight, Holy thoughts that star the night.

8 Speaker I think the speaker would be the author because she’s telling us her perspective on life.

9 Literal Meaning The literal meaning would be that if you give all you have in life for love it will be worth it in the end.

10 Authors Purpose The authors purpose is to tell people that we should all love and adore life and look at it as a positive thing all the time because it will all be worth it when life is over. Sara is saying life has more good things to it than what think.
