Adhoc Report Builder 2.0 The following guide explains the differences between “Multi Dataset Report” and “Cross Domain Report” when building an Adhoc Report Builder 2.0 query.

What is Multi Data Set? Multi Data Set is an Adhoc Query that contains multiple domains in separate tabs. Domain 1 Domain 2

What is Cross Domain? Cross Domain is an Adhoc Query that contains multiple domains in a single list report (ie. linking data into a single record using UserSysId). Cross Domain Coverage Important Note: Please note that as of 1210, Cross Domain Reporting covers modules that can be joined using the UserSysId and therefore does not include: Succession & Recruitment.

Configuration Cross Domain & Multi Data Set reporting is an opt-in feature that can be made available by your Customer Support team. Once enabled, access can be controlled via the Admin tools. Admin:

Creating a Cross Domain or Multi Data Set Report

Adding Domains Your Description Standard Domain Name (Domain 1)
Multi Data Set = Each domain will be a separate tab in the output Cross Domain = Each domain will be joined using the UserSysId into a single query

Defining Query Each step in the query now contains an area for each domain, as defined in the “General Info” tab. ie. if there are 2 domains selected, then “People”, “Data Sets”, “Columns” & “Filters” will contain a unique section for each. Domain 1 Domain 2

Exporting Considerations
Both report types must be run offline (due to performance considerations) Multi Data Set Report default export is offline via a default excel template Multi Data Set Reports can be exported to csv for data sets for BIRT reports
