WW2 – Evacuee diary Read the sentences. Sort the sentences – Evacuee A or Evacuee B Which child would you like to come to stay with you and your family? Why? Use the sentences to write a diary about the evacuee living with you. smartly dressed with polished shoes. clothes are patched and darned. eats only his/her fair share of food at mealtimes. is very greedy does not seem to know that food is rationed here in the country. helps with washing the pots, bringing in the coal for the fire and other jobs. does nothing to help, thinks he/she is on holiday. has got beautiful manners, always says please and thank you. does not behave at all well and I can’t understand what they say. is happy and plays nicely with the children. is always crying and won’t join in.
