32 A: Exchange or degree students with resident visa and plan to stay in Taiwan for longer than 6 months should apply for an ARC.

45 A: The application fee for the ARC is 1,000NTD per year.

47 A: The processing time for an ARC is around 10 working days. You can come to the NIA Service Center to pick up your ARC with the original receipt.

49 A: You should go to the local NIA Service Center and ask for a replacement for the lost ARC.

55 A: Reporting a lost passport Go to local NIA Service Center to report the lost passport in person. Prepare application form, 2 photos (2”x 2”), Documents used as proof of identity. Bring the Certificate of Lost Passport to the embassy or consulate of your home country to apply for a new passport. You need to go to NIA Service Center to update the information after obtaining your new passport or travel document.

56 Q: What will happen if I overstay in Taiwan?

57 A: You will be fined 2,000NTD to 10,000NTD depending on the length of overstay.

59 Q: Is it possible to apply for an ARC extension if I have already overstayed?

60 A1: If you continue to study in Taiwan, and your period of overstay is less than 30 days, you may re-apply for ARC extension after paying the fine.

61 A2: If you overstayed for over 29 days, you cannot re-apply for an ARC in Taiwan. You must pay the penalty and leave Taiwan. Apply a new visa to re-enter Taiwan and submit a new ARC application again.

63 A: You should report change of address to NIA within 15 days. ARC holders who fail to do so will be fined.
