Kindergarten Developmental Reading Assessment Word Analysis (DRA2 WA) All students Is an individual diagnostic assessment with a systematic means to observe how emergent readers attend to, and work with, the various features of spoken and written words.

Kindergarten Kindergarten Mathematics Reasoning Assessment (K-MRA) All students Assessment is ongoing throughout the year and administered after whole group instruction to determine flexible grouping needs. Students at the support level are reassessed after small group instruction.

Students K-6 WIDA ACCESS for ELLs® All LEP (limited English proficiency) students A secure large-scale English language proficiency assessment given to Kindergarten through 12th graders who have been identified as English language learners (ELLs). It is given annually to monitor students' progress in acquiring academic English.

First Grade Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test® (NNAT) All students & select students in grades 2-7 Assesses general ability in children nonverbally. Online this year for the first time!

Second Grade Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) All students & select students in grades 3-7 To assess students’ abilities in reasoning and problem solving using verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal (spatial) symbols.

First & Second Grades eCART Mathematics Reasoning Assessment (MRA) All students The information from these assessments is intended to be used by classroom teachers to make instructional decisions. The intent of this assessment is not to replace the on-going assessment that takes place in all classrooms. It is simply to provide a snapshot of where students’ thinking is at a given point in time.

Students 1-6 Developmental Reading Assessment® (DRA2) All students Fall, select students mid-year, spring Is a reading assessment that measures a student’s accuracy, fluency, and comprehension. Used as an instructional tool

Select Students in 3-6 Virginia Grade Level Assessment (VGLA) Evidence is collected throughout the year. VGLA is available for certain Limited-English Proficiency (LEP) students and students with disabilities in grades 3 through 8 as an alternative assessment for certain Standards of Learning (SOL) tests. Students who qualify to participate in the VGLA are required to demonstrate individual achievement of grade-level content standards as presented in the SOL test.

Select Students in 3-6 Virginia Alternative Assessment Program Evidence is collected throughout the year. VAAP is designed to evaluate the performance of students with significant cognitive disabilities who are working on academic standards that have been reduced in complexity and depth.

Students in 3-6 eCART Reading and Mathematics Assessment All students (unless IEP indicates otherwise) These assessments will help teachers measure student performance against the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL). They are not used for classroom grading. The information will assist teachers in planning for instruction to best meet the needs of all students.

Students in Grades 3-6 Standards of Learning (SOL) Tests All students (unless submitting a VGLA or VAAP collection of evidence) SOL assessments measure student achievement in English, mathematics, science and history/social science. All SOL assessments are online, unless a student’s IEP indicates otherwise.

6 th Grade Math SOL Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) Customized for each student based on how the student responds to the test questions Has been proven to increase student focus and engagement because students are asked questions based upon their responses to previous questions Scores are determined by the number of questions a student answers correctly and the relative difficulty of the correctly answered items.
