2 Winners of the competition were:-
INTER CLASS DEBATE COMPETITION Debate is one of the academic activities that gives students creative room to express what they feel. The length and breadth of knowledge that they gain through this is simply unparalleled. An inter class debate competition was held in Jay Jyoti School, Sholtu on 18th October The competition was held for three categories on topics: Category A – class III to V – “Should Homework Be Banned” Category B – class VI to VIII – “Books are better than Television” Category C – class IX to XII- “India-A superpower or Underdeveloped Nation” The participants armed with statistics and data made their arguments more emphatic with their righteous facial expressions, body movements and gestures. All the participants exhibited great oratorical skills. Winners of the competition were:- Category A- 1st – Vanshika, 2nd – Rishita, 3rd – Kartik. Category B – 1st – Abhishek, 2nd – Jyoti Meenakshi, 3rd - Riya Bhandari Category C- 1st Sumit Kumar, 2nd Bimlendu Tripathi, 3rd Payal Kaushal

3 MUHARRAM Class 8th students organized a special
CELEBRATIONS DIWALI To mark the celebration of Diwali, a special assembly was conducted by the students of Class-VI of Jay Jyoti School, Sholtu. The children dressed in colourful dresses enacted the scene of Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya. Kumud Badoni, a student of class-VI shared her views on Diwali and urged the students to play a safe Diwali. She pressed upon the students not to fire crackers and to celebrate the festival in such a way that it does not pollute our environment. BHAI DHUJ A Special assembly on Bhai Dhuj was organised by the students of Class VII of Jay Jyoti School Sholtu. Firstly Jyoti Meenakshi of Class – VII told the children about the festival and threw light on different aspects as to why we celebrate it. Then a beautiful scene of Dwarika was enacted by the students in which the love of Lord Krishna and his beloved sister Subhadra was beautifully displayed. MUHARRAM Class 8th students organized a special assembly to mark the celebration of Muharram on 3rd Nov’14. Communal harmony was the main idea behind the programme. The students beautifully displayed the need of love and understanding between different communities of the society.

4 ANNUAL SPORTS DAY-ATHFEST, 2014 Annual Sports Day Athfest was celebrated on 14th November 2014 to mark the celebration of children’s Day. Ms. Neelam Dulta S.D.M (Nichar) presided over the function as the Chief Guest along with M.D. Mr. H.K Sharma, Maj Gen S. Chaudhuri (Retd) Vice President SMC and Brig K.K. Marwah (Retd) Manager SMC. The Function began with the welcome song, followed by the March Past done by the four houses viz. Chenab, Satluj, Narmada and Baspa. Fun field events like back race, spoon race, frog race, three legged race, jump and run were organised for the students of Nursery, KG, I and II . The senior wing had 4 x 100 relay races, 100mtr. Race, Drill Display and Aerobics. The students gave a wonderful performance and they were beaming with joy and energy.

There were some events for the parents also and they all participated with great enthusiasm FUN TIME FOR PARENTS Trophies were given by the Chief Guest Ms. Neelam Dulta to the students for their performance throughout the year. WINNERS ALL TOGETHTER RESULTS: Best House of the Year: SATLUJ HOUSE Best Sports Boy: NITESH Class- IX Best Sports Girl: PREETI Class- XII Best March Past House: CHENAB Inter House Cricket: Winner (SATLUJ) Runner (NARMADA) Kho-Kho: Winner (BASPA HOUSE) Runner (NARMADA HOUSE) Volley Ball: Winner (CHENAB HOUSE) Basket Ball: Winner (SATLUJ HOUSE) Runner (BASPA HOUSE)

6 AB MAIN BANUNGA LAKHPATI
ACHIEVEMENTS LAPTOP WINNERS Class-X students were awarded with Laptops by the H.P Government for their outstanding performance in 10th Board result. Brig. K.K Marwah (Retd), Manager SMC gave away the laptops to the students. AB MAIN BANUNGA LAKHPATI Ab Main Banunga Lakhpati Quiz Competition was organised in the school on 18th Sept.’14. Two other schools i.e. Govt. Sr. Sec. School Urni and Govt. Sr. Sec. School Kilba also participated in the competition. The prizes were given to the students in a small ceremony which was organised in the presence of Brig. K.K Marwah Manager, School Management Committee.

7 POSTER MAKING COMPETITION A Poster making competition was organised by SJVNL in different schools. The theme was ‘SAVE ENERGY’. Atul Maurya, student of Class V was selected in category-A for State level competition and won Rupees 1000 as cash prize. Another competition was organised by the ‘Ministry of Water Resources’ and the topic was ‘SAVE WATER’. All the students from Class-V to Class VIII took part in the competition. ENGLISH WORKSHOP English workshop was organised by the H.O at Jaypee School , Noida from 3rd Nov. to 8th Nov’14. Our English teacher Ms. Amita Negi attended the workshop which was very useful for the language teachers. Equipped with new teaching techniques she took seminar of other teachers in the school premises and made them aware of the new teaching methods. MEMORIES FOREVER Class group photographs were taken for all the students from Nursery to XII. A framed photo has been provided to each student.
