Market Drivers Why Lync, Why Now?  Unified Communications at inflection point; Applications ascendant  Mobile workforce and BYOD shifting dynamic from traditional desk requirements  Single platform of Voice/Video/IM/Presence/Web for existing MS deployments

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. Lync Momentum  Microsoft now the global leader of enterprise voice lines shipped  Fastest growing business unit at Microsoft – over 30% YOY growth in 2013  Accelerated adoption through Office365 cloud-enabled UC  90% of Fortune 100 currently use Lync as their primary communication tool  Almost 60% of enterprises (500+ seats) are deploying or planning to deploy Lync

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. The Challenge With Lync  Deployment requirements are complex  Often involve separate UC, application and network owners  Lack of visibility into performance, metrics, and diagnostics  Low quality experiences slow adoption, increase trouble tickets, reduce ROI More Than Instant Messaging

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. Automated QoS and Comprehensive Analytics Across Lync-Qualified SDN, Wired and Wireless Infrastructures

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. Simple Extreme Networks and Microsoft Lync  Assured deployment through qualified wired, wireless, and SDN integration  Holistic network visibility from mobile edge to Lync UC components  Single application for network management, configuration and analytics

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. Fast Extreme Networks and Microsoft Lync  Rapid deployment through automated and adaptive QoS configuration  High performance real-time network transport for “morphing” application traffic  Quickly identify, isolate, and resolve application or network issues

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. Smart Extreme Networks and Microsoft Lync  Adaptive networking intelligence delivers guaranteed experience  Analytics and in-depth reporting creates granular network visibility and insight  Accelerated user adoption delivers ROI to the business

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. Microsoft Lync Orchestration Extreme Networks Harmonizes  Deep partnership and collaboration with Microsoft  High-performance network hardware and pervasive software portfolio  Holistic network automation, visibility and control through evolutionary SDN integration – deployable at scale TODAY

Extreme Network - Microsoft Lync Solutions  Lync Qualified Solutions –WIRELESS: IdentiFi WiFi Access points –WIRED: Summit and Black Diamond Switches –SDN : Lync SDN API Integration with OneFabric Connect  Dynamic, adaptive QoS profiles leveraging existing QoS/CoS architectures  Context-based Call Reporting for Lync  Purview Application Analytics for Lync 10

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. 11 Call Flow Process 1. End User initiates a call Request is sent to the Lync Front End Server - SIP 2. Lync SDN API passes Source – Destination IP UDP Ports used by RTP Type of Call 3. OneFabric Connect locates devices and users and creates dynamic profile on the switch that applies QoS to the flow/call Each Packet is marked for QoS throughout the network Leverages existing QoS mechanisms in the core Lync Controller provides ongoing information to Extreme NetSight on Jitter and MOS 5. Call Termination Remove QoS A Add MOS data to end Report End to End QoS and Contextual Reporting Solution Microsoft Lync SDN Integration with OneFabric Connect API

SDN integration - Why does it matter for Lync?  Prioritizing MS Lync based on UDP port ranges or DSCP does not work reliably –UDP port ranges can accidently prioritize other applications using the same ports, results on QoS degradation for MS Lync –DSCP based marking is only supported on MS endpoints, no support for iOS, Android etc  See also Microsoft TechNet –Enabling QoS in Lync Server 2013 for devices that are not based on Windows. By default, QoS is disabled for computers and other devices (such as iPhones) that run other operating systems. Although you can use Lync Server to enable and disable Quality of Service for devices, you typically cannot use the product to modify the DSCP codes used by these devices. –Configuring Quality of Service policies in Lync Server 2013 for clients running on Windows 7 or Windows 8. Note that Microsoft Lync Server 2013 does not support QoS for other Windows operating systems, such as Windows Vista or Windows XP.  Contextual reporting is not available without SDN integration and concurrently NAC deployed 12

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. City of Bellevue, Washington 13  Saved nearly $100,000 in program budget by deploying Lync vs. traditional IP/PBX System  Deployed QoS end-to-end to 1,200 users in their Microsoft Lync environment in “hours vs. weeks”  Reduced troubleshooting time by quickly identifying application and network-related issues  Gained deeper insights into City application investments and resource use, including Lync user adoption. “Using Extreme Networks made it quick and easy for us to incorporate the built-in QoS to deliver the best user experience to all of our employees across the City.” - Garrett Solberg, Senior Network Architect, City of Bellevue

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. MS Lync Contextual Reporting with OneView  Supported with Netsight, NAC and OneView on any Radius-based network infrastructure  Dashboard Overview  Detailed call reporting with additional context –User –Location –Device Type –Switch Type –AP Type –Software 14

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. Call Reporting - Overview  Reporting all calls –MOS –Start, End, Duration –Caller, Callee, URI –Location Info –Session Info  Prioritized Session Info –For EXOS based network elements 15

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. Contextual Reporting - Details  Report by device type – Source and Destination  Report by Location, Switch and Type, OS, AP and Type, OS 16

©2014 Extreme Networks, Inc. All rights reserved. Simplified Troubleshooting  Find all available user, device data with a simple search –Search for user or device or other attributes (depending on integrations like MDM and others  Network context is added automatically –Start troubleshooting right out of the search result  Supported with Netsight, NAC and Oneview on any Radius-based infrastructure  Application context is added when Purview is installed
