2 Purpose How the annual Church-service Missionary Coordination Process helps Church operations to achieve their operational objectives and fulfill their stewardships in the Kingdom. How stakes can effectively support Church operations by providing members to serve. How Stakes can

4 Coordination Process Today An annual process in North America to: – – Identify the Church-service missionary (CSM) and volunteer needs of Church operations and approved non- Church operations – – Assign stakes, as equitably as possible, to fill those needs so that operations are appropriately staffed – – Enable local and area priesthood leaders to review and approve the operational resource requests and stake assignments – – Coordinate one request, from one source, once a year Last year over 10,000 CSM/volunteer positions and 26,000 volunteer shifts were requested and assigned

6 Operation Managers Determine the Church-service missionaries and volunteers (replacements and growth) needed for the following year Enter staffing requests into the CSM Software System Collaborate with local CSM Coordinators and priesthood leaders for full understanding of needs and assignments Work closely with assigned stakes to help ensure the assignments are filled appropriately Interview, receive, train, supervise and help missionaries and volunteers have a great mission experience Request stake approval of extensions or early releases

8 Stake Priesthood Leaders Provide candid, timely feedback on proposed stake assignments Accept assignments approved by the Presidency of the Seventy Collaborate with operations to fill assignments with the right people when they are needed Call and set apart the missionaries Provide support, recognition, guidance to members as they serve Approve or redirect extensions and early releases as requested by the operation

9 CSM Office and Group Coordinators Ensure that operational requests and stake assignments are done appropriately Facilitate the review and collaboration among operation managers and priesthood leaders Balance assignments as requested by priesthood leaders Provide system and process training and support Process calls, extensions and releases Provide ongoing support to answer questions, resolve problems, make presentations, etc.

12 May 15 – Coordination Guidance is sent to all participants; the process begins. By June 30 – Operations identify 2015 needs and enter their CSM & Volunteer requests into the CSM System. By July 15 – CSM Area Seventies/CSM Agent Stake Presidents approve preliminary stake assignments for local priesthood review By August 15 – Area Seventies and Stake Presidents review the proposed assignments and concur/comment to their CSM Group Coordinators By August 31 – CSM Group Coordinators make final adjustments to assignments in the CSM System and submit them for approval. By September 30 – Presidency of the Seventy review and approve area level numbers By October 1 – Memorandum is sent to Area Seventies, stake presidents and operations to work together to fill assignments appropriately Key Completion Dates
