Perth, Australia 201510 Prioritized Activities from the District Development Plan Transport infrastructure - target to link all 84 LLG wards in the Districts – outsourced the management of the construction to achieve set targets Ward development - target to empower all 84 LLG wards in the District. Opened up accounts, supported with K20,000.00 in 2013 & 2014. K40,000.00 for 2015. Empower the wards to decide for their own development needs. Education - Provide access to all school aged children in all 84 LLG wards in the District. Also to provide further education opportunities for those who have dropped out of school. Economic development - Provide economic opportunities for all citizens of Nuku District.

Perth, Australia 201512 Financing of the implementation of the plan The National Government has budgeted 10 million Kina in the past years In 2015 - K15 million for each District and 5million kina per District for the Province Even though WSP is not a mining province, the proceeds that comes out of mining and petroleum development in other parts of the country benefits Nuku

Perth, Australia 201513 Challenges Not all the money budgeted for is released in time for implementation. Enabling environment is a big problem in the provinces and Districts. Capacity of the workforce in the provinces and districts is not at competent level to implement all plans and budgets well. Cost of service delivery is not the same across the country.

Perth, Australia 201514 Conclusion Not all provinces in PNG are a mining province but the Government tries to share the proceeds from these developments equitably across the country Development and service delivery needs of each provinces and districts are catered for.
