A funnel shaped cone that has high winds an happens over land. That has a vortex. Cause/ How are they predicted? Identifying regions How are they measured? What scale? By a scale and on Fujita scale. How much time to prepare? If it is a warning you have less than 24 hours. If it is a watch then it is possible in the area, within 36 hours. Precautions/Safety steps Get away from windows. Move to a basement or inner room of the house. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and take action immediately.

By a scale and on a Saffir- Simpson Scale. How much time to prepare? Warning-24 hours Watches-36 hours Precautions/Safety steps Make sure your car is filled with gasoline. If your home isn’t on higher ground, go to a shelter. Stay away from standing water. It may be electrically charged from under ground or drowned power lines.
